Richard Childs is a prominent artist in a fast-emerging group of painters located in the Hudson River Valley of the Adirondack Mountains. The North Country group is carrying on the tradition of the Hudson River painters.

Childs is a graduate of the University of Hartford Art School. He taught fine arts in the Berkshire Mountain region for 23 years.
